A TTRPG About…Trash Pandas?

Like I’ve said before, I love a TTRPG with charm, personality, and an identity all to its own. But what if we have a system that actually breaks the fourth wall somehow?

Most importantly of all– what if we get to play as adorable possums?

More specifically, psychic ones that also solve mysteries tied to garbage.

Ladies and gentlemen, I’m deliriously happy to introduce Psychic Trash Detectives.

Shut Up And Take My Money: the TTRPG
Seriously, what part of “shut up and take my money” is hard to understand.?

Like a certain super bleak TTRPG, Psychic Trash Detectives has its 3-5 players act as their own DM, even making their own game maps. And while you do have a guidebook at your disposal, your game is mostly determined by collaborative storytelling and trash.

Oh, by the way, this is where the fourth wall breaking thing from before comes in. You use your actual trash in your game. (Whether you bring it to the game or- let’s be honest with ourselves- already had it within grabbing distance of the game table.)

“Sure, you can use the discarded pages of my novel. Just don’t read them!”

Right, so, we have our trash. What’s next?

Well, the psychic part! Which, due to most of us being telekinetically-challenged, is done through a number of mini-games. This includes drawing with your eyes closed, blacking out parts of trash labels, and choosing a random song from your playlist. (Also hoping to god that you don’t have any Backstreet Boys songs on said playlist.)

And again, you get to play as furry trash babies.

Obviously, the campaign cleared. But you’ll have until March 16 to show your support before trash pick up.
