Elder Scrolls Arriving in Local Game Stores

Bethesda released Skyrim across multiple platforms, but now for the first time, you’ll be able to take the Dragonborn to your tabletop with The Elder Scrolls: A Call to Arms from Modiphius Entertainment. The initial wave of products contains the Core Rules set, Bleak Falls Barrow, Imperial Starter, and Stormcloak Starter.

With the Core Rules set, players have the rules and accessories needed to play. The Core Rules focus on two types of games, delves into the barrows under Skyrim either solo or co-op, or clashes between the warring Imperial and Stormcloak factions. However, while the set has stat cards for heroes, followers, and adversaries, it contains no miniatures. On the other hand, Modiphius manages to keep the price point forty-five dollars while stuffing in 228 game cards, 13 custom dice, 2 sheets of die-cut counters, a 104-page complete Core Rules, another 44-page Quest Book, and a 16-page Quickstart Guide.

Your solo miniature pack is Bleak Falls Barrow Delve Set. The box contains 8 32mm scale high-quality multi-part hard plastic miniatures with bases. Among the miniatures are your hero, the Dragonborn, Champion of Skyrim, the Draugr Overlord, Bleak Falls Guardian, 3 Draugr Greatsword Warriors, and 3 Skeleton Warriors. However, Bleak Falls Barrow Delve, like the faction starters, don’t contain any stat cards. They’re all in the Core Rules Set instead. Still, 8 miniatures for $36.00, is competitive for licensed product and every figure in here will do double duty in a fantasy RPG game.

Both the Imperial Faction Starter and Stormcloak Faction Starter are intended for 2-player battles, although the heroes could also be used in delve mode. In the Imperial Starter you’ll find 2 heroes, Hadavar, Hero of Helgen and and Imperial Mage, Spellsword as well as 3 Imperial Soldiers with Sword and Sheild. The Stormcloak Starter is a mirror image of the Imperial with 2 heroes, Yrsarald Thrice-Pierced, Stormcloak Commander, and Ralof, Warrior of the Resistance. They are accompanied by 3 Stormcloak Soldiers with Greatswords. Each box of 5 figures sells for $33.00.

While this is the extent of the Elder Scrolls releases in hard-plastic, there are several resin sets available direct from Modiphius. With any luck we’ll see them in hard-plastic as well.
