Games Workshop announced they are releasing three new starter sets following the release of Indomitus. While Games Workshop hasn’t released price points or a release date at this time, we can expect them to the follow closely to the prices of Warhammer 40,000 eighth edition and Warhammer: Age of Sigmar and to be released soonish. Here’s the breakdown
The smallest of the sets, called the Recruit Edition, features a handful of dice and minis, as well as the rules to get you started with the contents. Space Marine players will get 5 Assault Intercessors and a while their Necron foes face them with 10 Warriors and 3 Canoptek Scarab Swarms led by a Royal Warden.

The next size up is the Elite Edition which builds on the Recruit. Space Marines get their 5 Assault Intercessors and Primaris Lieutenant, but add 3 Outriders. The Necrons keep their 10 Warriors and 3 Canoptek Scarab Swarms led by a Royal Warden and add 3 Skorpekh Destroyers.

Finally, there is the Command Edition, the largest of the starters. This set is aimed at new and continuing players who missed Indomitus. The miniature count is the same as the Elite Edition. However, this set includes a 184 page rulebook, a fold-out, double-sided gaming board, and a new set of ruins and pipeline plastic terrain.
