In-Store Play Suspensions Expand for Wizards of the Coast

Wizards of the Coast announced earlier this week the beginning of in-store play suspensions throughout Europe, including Russia. As part of the announcement, all in-store events were removed from the Store and Event Locator. Similarly, WPN converted all existing Commander Legends Prereleases to remote events. Wizards offered news and guidance in their October 22nd WPN post.

Similarly, the next set in the release schedule, Kaldheim, feature only remote play events. Effectively pushing back In-Store play till after January 2021. While the wording of the announcement was vague, being contained in the European suspensions, it applies to both North America and Latin America.

In the interests of greater transparency, Wizards of the Coast will be posting monthly updates at wpn.wizards.com starting the second Wednesday in November. The updates indicate whether in-store play suspensions continue into the next month or are to be lifted.

When more information becomes available we’ll update. Until then, stay safe, stay healthy, and play a few games.
