A prominent competition judge and organizer for Magic: The Gathering passed away yesterday, September 7th, after a seven year battle with cancer.
Menery was a level 5 judge and a co-creator of the highly popular Commander game format. He was also a founding member of the Commander Rules Committee and the format’s best-known advocate and shepherd.
Menery was also a very active writer and content creator with a strong philosophy for the game, and a passion for sharing his love of it.
Doubtless, Menery’s loss will have a deep impact on the Magic community.
