Days Of Wonder, publishers of the classic Ticket To Ride board game, released a very brief teaser trailer video on their Instagram account today. The images specified very little, but included animated movement across a railway map and images of trains.
The teaser confirms that Ticket To Ride’s original designer, Alan R. Moon, is involved, but also Rob Daviau, who pioneered the legacy game format in Risk Legacy. Matt Leacock, designer of Pandemic, is also attached to the project, and Daviau and Leacock have collaborated previously on Pandemic Legacy.
Legacy board games are a genre in which game sessions change the direction of the game’s story and often its play, in a sort of board game campaign approach. The most famous of these games is possibly Gloomhaven.
