Tenth Edition Adeptus Mechanicus

The technological (and spiritual?) marvels of the Adeptus Mechanicus spark to life in Warhammer 40,000‘s tenth edition.

Army Rule: Doctrina Imperatives

Ranged weapons come to the forefront with Doctrina Imperatives. Each round, you can choose one of the two; either giving your Ranged weapons the Heavy ability (+1 to Hit when the unit Remained Stationary) or the Assault ability (the unit can still shoot after Advancing). When you choose Protector (with Heavy), units shooting at this one remove 1 from their Armor Piercing (AP) stat. When you choose Conqueror, your units improve their AP stat by 1.

Detachment Rule: Rad-Bombardment

You can use Rad-Bombardment to get dug-in foes moving out of your enemy’s Deployment Zone.

Skitarii Vanguard

The Battleline keyword means you can include up to six Skitarii Vanguard units (as opposed to the standard limit of three). Plus, other Mechanicus units get buffs when they’re near friendly Battleline units.

An example of this Battleline synergy is the Sicarian Ruststalkers’ Optimised Gait, which increases its bonus to Advance and Charge rolls.

Belisarius Cawl.

Belisarius Cawl comes with his Canticles, and he chooses one to sing at the start of each Battle Round, allowing adaptive buffs to nearby friendly units.

Stratagems

The Mechanicus faction has two stratagems related to the Imperative rule. If you Conqueror is active, you can use the Aggressor Imperative, or if Protector is active, you can use the Bulwark Imperative.

Aggressor Imperative allows one Skitarii unit to Advance and Charge in the same round.

Bulwark Imperative, on the other hand, gives one Skitarii unit a 4+ Invulnerable Save for the turn.
